Lesson:
EAL One-on-One Tutoring
Anzhe
Lesson Overview
My host teacher, Mr. Litman, tutored two english as an additional language (EAL) students. For my observed lesson, I led the tutoring session with Anzhe. We edited his essay, a short biography about me, just as he had done with a different essay with Mr. yesterday. In addition, I finished administering a test that Mr. Litman began with Ahnze earlier in the week. Finally, we read an article together that was about two of his favorite subjects: cars and economy. We took turns reading, and we talked about pronunciation, vocabulary, and concepts related to the article.

What went well?
I believe my lesson was successful because it was at a pace where Anzhe felt comfortable, I used material that Anzhe was familiar with - I was not introducing anything new, and because he got to choose what article he wanted to read at the end of the lesson.
What could I have improved?
Looking back, I would have liked to incorporate a more interactive or colorful component to the lesson. Although the lesson followed a typical format for Anzhe, he may have enjoyed a change of pace. In addition, I would have preferred to have a better understanding on English grammar in order to best support Anzhe's learning.
Teacher Feedback
Mr. Litman verbally praised my lesson, and supported my internship experience with the following reflection:
